The London A Cappella Festival would like to thank all the applicants for their entries and were delighted to receive nearly 150 applications from across the world, including entries from Indonesia, USA, Mexico, Venezuela and throughout Europe. The winners of the Composition Competition 2012 are as follows:
Category A
A work for community or amateur choir (for any voices)
Winner: Alan Smith
Piece: View Me Lord
The winning piece will be published by Oxford University Press and be performed at the London A Cappella Festival in January 2012.
Category B
A work for 8-voice a cappella group (of any level) 2S,2A,2T,Bar,B
Winner: David Jenkins
Piece: Full Fathom Five
The winning piece will be performed by the Swingle Singers at the London A Cappella Festival in January 2012. In addition to this, the winning piece will be performed by the Swingle Singers in concert in 2012.
Category C
A work for community or amateur choir (SATB) plus Swingle Singers (2S,2A,2T, Bar,B)
